OBRADOVICH: Branstad accepts three primary debates
Former Gov. Terry Branstad’s campaign announced today that it is accepting invitations for three debates during the GOP gubernatorial primary campaign.
His release is below. The Republican gubernatorial candidate says he will accept invitations to debate in Sioux City, Cedar Rapids, and Des Moines. The first debate, to be sponsored by KTIV TV in Sioux City, is April 7. The Iowa Broadcasters Association is sponsoring the Cedar Rapids debate on May 1. The date of the Des Moines Register’s debate has not yet been announced.
I’m pleasantly surprised that Branstad is agreeing to three primary debates. He could have limited himself to one or two as a way to keep his GOP opponents at arm’s length. It will serve voters well to have an opportunity to see all three candidates together in several different formats…full post HERE.
