Rep. Doug Struyk endorses Branstad for Governor
(URBANDALE) – The Branstad 2010 campaign announced today that State Rep. Doug Struyk is supporting Terry Branstad’s campaign for governor and will serve as a co-chair in Pottawattamie County.
Struyk stressed the need for job creation in his support of Gov. Branstad.
“Governor Branstad is a proven leader with regard to job creation and economic development,” said Struyk, who was first elected to the Iowa House in 2002. “He is not afraid to make the tough decisions when it comes to bringing in new business and industry, and encouraging the expansion of current companies and small businesses in Iowa. It is time for small businesses to have a governor who’s on their side.”
Gov. Branstad welcomed Struyk’s support, and looks forward to working with him on job creation and fixing Iowa’s budget.
“As our state faces a projected $1 billion deficit, I will look to leaders like Doug Struyk to help me control spending and put Iowa back on a path of solid fiscal management,” said Branstad. “I will work with him to help lead Iowa’s comeback and am proud to have him join our team.”
